BATA Membership Terms and Conditions:
Payment Terms: All membership fees must be paid within 30 days of receiving the invoice. Failure to pay within the specified time frame may result in the suspension or termination of your membership. Memberships are non-refundable.
Special Interest Groups: Access to Special Interest Groups (SIGs) is only available to members who have paid their membership fees in full. Payments must be made before access will be given to SIGs.
Conduct: All members agree to adhere to BATA’s code of conduct, therefore agreeing to respectful and reasonable behaviour towards other BATA members and staff. Any behaviour which is deemed to be aggressive, violent or constitutes bullying or harassment will not be tolerated. Any such behaviour regarding any of the following protected characteristics under UK law: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion/belief, sex (gender) and sexual orientation, will also not be tolerated. BATA reserves the right to terminate or suspend membership on this basis with immediate effect.
Intellectual Property: Any materials provided by the organisation, including but not limited to, research papers, articles, and newsletters, are strictly for personal use and must not be shared or used for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of the organisation.
Use of Name and Logo: Members can use the BATA logo in accordance with our branding policy. Where members wish to use the logo beyond the branding policy members must gain the prior written consent from BATA’s Executive Team. If agreement has been sought, agreed to and thereafter, membership terminated or cancelled, the BATA logo is to be removed from any social media or website.
Privacy Policy: The organisation respects the privacy of its members and will only use their personal information for the purposes of managing their membership and providing member benefits. Personal information will not be shared with third parties without the prior consent of the member.
Governing Law: These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
Membership Termination: Membership can be terminated by the organisation for failure to comply with these terms and conditions, unethical conduct, or any other reason deemed appropriate by the organisation whether that behaviour takes place on or offline.
Future Amendments: BATA reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time.
Please be aware that BATA is led by a set of agreed upon values. BATA will not promote one kind of technology over another. BATA represents the voices of our members, which includes a variety of opinions and ideas. BATA will always do its best to speak truthfully to member positions, however if you choose to not express that opinion, or engage in attempts to discuss areas of potential interest, you may find that BATA’s public positions do not reflect your own organisations experience or views or are not represented at all.
